How It Works
Learn the basics

To understand the concept of how an Enviroheat heat pump works, imagine your refrigerator / freezer working in reverse
Free Heat
While a refrigerator removes heat from within the closed box and expels that heat to the surrounding air, a heat pump takes the heat from surrounding air and transfers it to water in an enclosed tank.
Efficiency
Enviroheat heat pump technology makes the efficient use of heat in the surrounding air, even at temperatures as low as -7C. In fact the Enviroheat heat pump hot water system is so efficient that it can convert 1kW of electricity into over 4kW of heat.

Case Study
Micro Channel Condenser
Larger contact surface for better heat transfer and less refrigerant consumption.
Heat Pump Compressor
Specially designed for heat pumps to maximise the efficiency.
Bottom Coil
Design enlarges the total heat exchange area to deliver more hot water.
No Fixed Wiring
Simply plug the unit into a 10 Amp power point, no fixed wiring required.
Dual Anodes
Twice the corrosion protection with dual full length anodes. Reduces costly maintenance.
Multiple Channel Design
Multiple channel design. The multi channel condenser design divides flow into eleven galleries with greatly improved heat transfer over a single pipe
Titanium Aluminium
Titanium aluminium allow for better corrosion and heat resistance. The multichannel condenser withstands corrosion for 7.5 times longer than copper pipe condenser.
Reduced Pressure
Reduced pressure drop improves compressor efficiency by 6%. Micro channel pressure drop 0.03Mpa. Compare that to a standard coil pipe with 0.15Mpa.
Larger Contact Surface
Larger contact surface to improve heat transfer efficiency by 30%. Improved heat transfer means improved efficiency. Up to 71% cheaper to run than conventional hot water systems.
Benefits
Energy savings of up to 73% compared to a conventional electric hot water system
A 5 year complete replacement warranty for any storage tank or mechanical failure
Reducing greenhouse gas emissions and your home's carbon footprint
Over a 10 year period approximately 30,000 kWh worth of energy is saved
All Enviroheat tanks have the added protection of 2 sacrificial anodes fitted
Enviroheat heat pumps convert 1kW of electricity into over 4kW of heat
The Enviroheat has been tested under the Australian Government and has been issued a STC rating of 30. Now that is a 30,000 kWh of energy consumption saved over a 10 year period
Efficiency
There are no regulations that require the energy efficiency of heat pump hot water systems sold in New Zealand and Australia to be tested to a common standard, to carry labels indicating their energy efficiency or other key aspects of performance or to meet any minimum prescribed levels of energy efficiency or performance.
To provide a comparison, Australia does have a Government tested and allocated STC rating, the STC is a rated saving that a hot water system has been granted after testing and approved by the Australian Clean Energy Regulator, the number of STC’s that are issued refers to one megawatt hour (1 MWh) of avoided energy consumption over the heat pump hot water system’s deemed life expectancy of a hot water system, being 10 years.
S = R – T where: S: STC count R: Reference conventional system’s energy consumption (MWh over ten years) T: Tested system’s estimated energy consumption (MWh over ten years).
